JAIMIE GLICK, President
Jaimie graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a BA in psychology. She was named to the Dean’s List for three consecutive years and was a member of Psi Chi, the national honor society in Psychology. After graduating from college, Jaimie did two years of medical research in the Intensive Care Unit at Mount Sinai Hospital. Jaimie is currently a third year medical student at SUNY Downstate College of Medicine in Brooklyn, New York where she is VP of her medical school class. She is humbled and proud to be the first president of the Silver Lining Society and believes “Silver Lining Society is more than a group of people, it is a strong team of leaders that stand to save lives. SLS is on its way to becoming one of the most successful fundraising committees in New York.”
SARA PARKER, Vice President, Director of Events
Sara Parker graduated from Providence College, Rhode Island with a B.S. in Business Management-Marketing in 2007. She also studied abroad at the University of New South Wales, Australia in her fall semester of 2005. During college, Sara planned events in and around Boston, with a special focus on fashion shows and weddings. After graduating college she moved to New York City to advance her career in event planning. She is currently an Event Planner in the Financial Industry executing global events. With her extensive travel and cultural experiences, Sara has seen first hand the widespread suffering in this world. She is honored to be the first Vice President of the Silver Lining Society and looks forward to being part of a team that can have a direct effect on making a difference in the world of childhood cancer.
JOSH BERG, Director of Recruitment
After graduating from The University of Wisconsin-Madison in May 2000, Joshua pursued the promotions and marketing industry starting Blink Entertainment, LLC, which became one of the most recognizable names in the industry. Eventually, Joshua decided to focus on his education as well as his passion for charity work and closed Blink’s doors. Since then he has worked closely with many organizations including the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America Junior Committee as well as SLS. Joshua believes “It is truly special to see the results of the organization’s hard work and how we can really make a difference in the lives of so many.” Joshua is enrolled in the MBA program at Hofstra University and is presently working for Nussbaum Yates Berg Klein Wolpow, LLP, an accounting firm in Melville, NY.
RIKI HIRSCH, Director of Communications
Riki B. Hirsch graduated from Syracuse University with a degree in nutrition. In July of 2006, Riki started working at OneWayFurniture.com, where she became the Technical Support Manager. Riki now oversees all facets of customer service as well as commercial and residential design for her company. Since Silver Lining Society was founded, Riki has become increasingly interested in contributing her time and energy to it. Combining her big heart and passion, Riki has been tapped to become Director of Communication, where she’ll focus her efforts on enhancing committee awareness. Knowing what cancer can do to a family, Riki is dedicated to making a difference and expanding the growth of Silver Lining Society.
TERENCE MARSÉ, Director of Publicity
Terence Marsé graduated from the University of Hartford with a major in Business Management. He is currently a commercial insurance producer with GFI Capital. Terence specializes in real estate insurance at GFI, one of the largest property insurers in New York State. He loves traveling and playing sports especially golf, tennis and snowboarding. Terence has been working with the Silver Lining Society since its inception. Unfortunately, cancer has inflicted several of Terence’s friends and family, making the cause particularly close to his heart. He is looking forward to many more incredible Silver Lining Society events and hopes that one day cancer will be completely eliminated.
BRETT MASLIN, Director of Sponsorship
After graduating from Indiana University in Bloomington, IN, Brett became an Associate Director of Adams & Company Real Estate, LLC in New York City. He deals primarily with commercial leasing and sales. Brett became involved in the Silver Lining society three years ago. After visiting the Columbia University Medical Center, he quickly felt a connection to the children. He was in awe of the way “the staff at the hospital truly loved and cared for those sick children; it was an incredible sight to witness." After learning that he could play a major role in helping those in need, Brett jumped on the opportunity to be a member of the SLS Executive Board. Brett strives to bring the same passion to SLS as he does to his work at Adams & Co.
STEPHANIE MASLIN, Director of In-Kind Donations
Stephanie Maslin graduated from Columbia University, Teachers College, in 2003 with dual graduate degrees in Special Education and Early Education. Before that, she attended Hofstra University also receiving two degrees, one in Elementary Education and another in Psychology. After college, she immediately began teaching in the classroom as well as working home-based Early Intervention cases. Stephanie currently teaches in the classroom and tutors both typical and special needs children. Stephanie’s strong interest in children makes the Silver Lining Society a perfect match for her. She joined the executive board of SLS as a director in 2008 and continues to help SLS raise funds and awareness for Hope & Heroes Children's Cancer Fund.
MICHELLE TOLKIN, Secretary
Michelle Tolkin received her BA from the University of Pennsylvania with a major in Communication and minors in English and Film. After working in marketing at Digitas, Michelle went on to get her MBA from Columbia Business School. She is currently working for American Express. Michelle is excited and honored to be a part of the SLS executive board and looks forward to its continued success in raising funds and awareness for Hope & Heroes Children’s Cancer Fund.
